Nothing stops a good night’s sleep than a painful bedsore. The memory foam mattress topper is the current design for prime comfort in the bedroom. The memory foam was first developed by NASA so that astronauts could get a good rest on a compact area in the spaceship. As it is called, the memory foam takes a shape that will complement the user’s body to relieve pressure points and avoid sores. Memory foam is also used in the medical industry to minimise sores in bed-ridden patients. The initial difficulty in mass producing memory mattresses comes from possible chemical leaks from the mattresses. When they finally solved the leakage, memory mattresses became more popular to hypoallergenic patients.

Memory mattress toppers work by altering its shape depending on the weight and the shape of the load. It takes the form of the person to mould to the body naturally. In effect, this cushions the torso and other joints of the body. A memory mattress is also sensitive to temperature changes since it responds well to heat. The warmer it gets, the softer it becomes.
The effect of the mattress on your body yields tremendous benefits. First, the mattress will hold your spine in the correct position as you lie down. The mattress serves as a big cradle, supporting you on the right spots while not stifling your joints. If you wake up with stiff joints, you may need to consider memory mattresses. The visco-elastic technology that started as a feature in spaceships has become a household item.

Memory mattress toppers work because of the chemicals found in the material. New memory foams mattresses can emit a strange smell, but this chemical is non-toxic and the scent disappears after a few days. If you can’t put up with the strong smell, place a dish of vinegar in your room so that vinegar will absorb the smell.

New technology has been developed which produces a mattress created from visco elastic foam, commonly called a memory foam mattress. This foam cradles the shape of your body, relieving pressure points created by standard mattresses, and providing you with a better night’s sleep. These memory foam mattresses, also just like standard mattresses, come in a variety of sizes, price points and quality levels.

It can be quite tricky to find accurate information in order to choose a high quality memory foam mattress. A manufacturer or dealer often does not provide the details needed to justify the higher cost of memory foam mattresses such as the leading brand, Tempurpedic, which is much more costly than traditional mattresses. They fail to show proof of claims that their mattresses will do what they say and improve a person’s sleep. It is also quite difficult to compare the quality to be able to discern high quality memory foam mattresses from those made of lower quality materials.
Most manufacturers will push memory foam mattresses on everyone but some people will not benefit from this technology. One reason could be because the foam used is not the genuine visco elastic foam but there are also people who find that their bodies are just not a good fit with memory foam mattresses. We offer a way for you to find out if you are one of those people before you spend a lot of money on your purchase.

There are several manufacturers and retailers in the UK that sell memory foam mattresses but their websites are woefully lacking in the details such as firmness, density and temperature sensitivity that you need when choosing a mattress. To learn more, you will have to contact them directly and ask questions about their products. The answers you get will reveal how much they actually know about their products and whether you can trust their recommendations.
Latex Mattress

It seems that there is a new trend in mattresses. Hard foam mattresses are slowly being replaced by latex core ones that are dense (4 lb/cubic ft) and long lasting because the latter are found to be more comfortable. Latex mattresses are made with pincore holes punched into the core to create a more comfortable surface. Often, these holes are uniform throughout, but in special mattresses, they are sized varyingly to create different pressure points on specific parts of the body such as the shoulders, thighs, and etc.

In latex mattress production, there are opposing views as to which are the proper components of making a quality product. Most latex products in the market are created with a combination of synthetic and natural latex. Manufacturers argue that this combination makes the core more flexible. However, producers of all-natural latex mattresses rebut these claims by saying that an all-natural product is just as flexible, and therefore, there is no need to use chemicals. Expectedly, choosing natural latex cores entails paying more cash and going through the difficulty of finding where these products are actually available.
Aside from core components, there are also two diverging processes in latex mattress production. One, the Dunlop method, whips the latex liquid with air to create a kind of foam which is continually molded and heated until it vulcanizes on its own. The second method, called Talalay, is said to create foam with better consistency because of its use of vacuum-based procedures. After the foam is prepared for both methods, these are consequently washed to rid them of their rubbery smell and take out excess soaps and proteins that may have remained in the core.

There really is no clear consensus on which methods and procedures create the best mattresses. It all comes down to preference. If you prefer a mattress that is all-natural, a natural core combined with the Dunlop method is suitable for you. If you want a more consistent core, you may opt to choose the synthetic combination coupled with the Talalay method.
